This collection of matchbox altars is inspired by Brazilian oratories and Mexican retablos. My collection features suicide bombers, fallen rulers of foreign regimes, and rebel fighters. Also there are children victimized by modern war, mourning mothers, and images taken from the Abu Ghraib photos. These small altars present a space where conflicts and their perceived outcomes meet.
