I borrowed from Goya's Disasters of War as a starting point for this series. Wars have multiple sides; varied and complex viewpoints. By using Goya's work, I connect our present to the past, showing that history is always going to mimic itself. If not in our back yards, conflicts are represented in our media, and if not there, somewhere else. Artists throughout history have been compelled to comment on war either from a personal standpoint or as an outsider's empathetic response. These drawings and prints reflect things real and imagined. My creative responses differ little from our media, both being removed and only representation.
