This series of pieces arose from my documentation of workers in the fields of New Mexico. This project considers immigration, my proximity to the U.S./Mexico border, and the fundamental force of difference that drives stereotype, stigma, and prejudice in American society. What we think we know is biased by two parts of our knowledge: one part that is informed by sources around us, and the other part that is something that we can almost never understand without first hand experience.
